A defense-tech venture capital firm backed by BAE Systems and the NATO Innovation Fund has raised a €197 million ($225 million) fund to help develop sovereign military technologies in Europe. With the new fund, Expeditions plans to invest in as many as 40 early stage startups that build technologies with immediate operational relevance to the continent’s critical defense capability gaps, Mikolaj Firlej, a general partner at the Warsaw-headquartered company, said in an interview.
